- Professional Engineer registrations in West Virginia expire December 31 of each even-numbered year and renew on a two-year (biennial) cycle; a renewal postmarked or submitted online after the expiration date but by January 31 is accepted with a late fee equal to 25 percent of the renewal fee, and any renewal submitted on or after February 1 after expiration is rejected and the registration is redesignated as lapsed.
