- Reciprocity
- For professional engineers: an applicant holding a valid license in another state or jurisdiction may be licensed in Virginia by endorsement by submitting documentation showing that the education, experience, and examination by which the applicant was first licensed in the original jurisdiction are substantially equivalent to Virginia's requirements, and by satisfying all other applicable requirements of the chapter. Engineers licensed in a country that is a signatory to the International Engineering Alliance mobility agreements may instead qualify by showing education meeting Virginia standards and seven years of qualifying engineering experience.
