Utah licensing rules
- Renewal
- Utah professional engineer and professional land surveyor licenses run on a two-year cycle and expire on March 31 of odd-numbered years. DOPL mails a renewal notice at least 60 days before expiration, and the renewal fee is $74, contingent on completing 30 hours of continuing education. Source
- Reciprocity
- Utah grants professional engineer licensure by endorsement to applicants who hold a license in another U.S. state, district, or territory with a similar scope of practice. Qualifying applicants submit an official verification of license from their home jurisdiction along with the endorsement application; DOPL does not issue temporary licenses to practice while an application is pending.
