Texas licensing rules

Renewal
TBPELS is moving to two-year license renewal, with the board standardizing renewal/expiration dates to the end of January or the end of July; the one-year renewal fee stays the same and the two-year fee is twice the one-year fee. The one-year PE renewal fee is $50 and the two-year renewal fee is $100. Source
Reciprocity
Texas does not offer true reciprocity or comity with other states. The board's own FAQ states: "The Act does not allow a true reciprocity or comity between Texas and another state, but does allow an individual licensee in another state and meeting the minimum requirements the ability to apply for a license," and an applicant may submit a current NCEES record in lieu of separately supplied experience records, transcripts, references, and verifications.
